Quotations are given by the translator in response to the customer’s request or by searching projects in the Project Search.
The customer, in order to receive a quotation, uploads the document(s) (Word, XLS, PPT or other formats) on BeWords, therefore making them available to the translators, who price the job on a source word basis in the currency defined by the client (Euro or US dollar most of the time).
The customer may request quotations from several translators.
The quotation transaction occurs entirely between the translator and the customer: Bewords does not intervene in any way in this transaction.
If and when the client agrees upon the price given by the translator (taking into account the VAT/tax regulations of the translator’s and the customer's country), the payment procedure is also defined: prepayment via Bewords (see below) or direct payment to the translator using PayPal or bank transfer according to the translator’s payment terms.
Prepayment service: all registered translators can use the prepayment service. After the client has accepted the quotation for the translation or interpreting job, the translator can request the prepayment of the service. Once the amount has been received by BeWords, acting in its capacity as an intermediate trusted third party, the translator carries out the translation (or interpreting job), and delivers it to the client. After the client has received and validated the translation, or after the interpreting service has been performed, and in the absence of any dispute, the money is transferred to the translator’s bank account minus BeWords' commission.
